Worship Gathering

Sundays @10am

COME AS YOU ARE

Jesus said, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners” (Mark 2:17).

At Living Stone Church, we gather together on Sunday mornings not because we have it all together but because we are sinners in need of a savior. Our church is not for those who think they are righteous. It is for those who know they aren’t and want to know more about Jesus and find forgiveness in his name. We welcome anyone and everyone to come worship with us on a Sunday morning.

what to expect

  • CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Children are a valued part of our church community. We want kids to join us in worship as much as they are able. We want to welcome and receive children in our worship service the way Jesus did when he said, "Let the children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God” (Luke 18:16). We welcome and encourage kids of all ages to join in worshiping with us.

We also offer a sunday school class during the sermon for kids ages 3 - 8 years old to receive gospel-centered teaching. To learn more about our current curriculum, click HERE.

And for kids 9 and up we offer note sheets for them to take notes during the sermon.

  • WORSHIP

Worship is not a spectator event. Therefore, we encourage participation in worship through congregational singing, responsive readings, prayer, confession, and the Lord's Supper. We want to hear from God and respond to him in worship.

Praising God through singing is an essential part of our Sunday gathering. We sing a combination of traditional hymns, contemporary Christian songs and modern hymns that are Christ-exalting, Scripture-saturated, and God-focused.

  • preaching

At Living Stone Church, we preach expositionally. This means that the main message of the sermon is the main message of the scripture text we are preaching on. We seek to bring out from the text what is there not put into the text what we want say. The preacher and the sermon submit to God's word and trust that God's word is sufficient to provide all that we need in order to know God and live in a way that pleases him.

This also means that we typically preach through whole books of the Bible without avoiding hard passages. But from time to time, we will also preach on specific topics by looking at what the whole Bible says about that topic. In short, we preach the word (2 Timothy 4:2).

  • The Lord's Supper (Communion)

We take the Lord's Supper (Communion) together every week in order to remember, proclaim, and celebrate the death of Jesus on the cross. Through this ordinance we celebrate the New Covenant, participate in the death of Jesus, display the unity of the church, and anticipate the return of Jesus.

Because the Lord's Supper is a sign of the New Covenant, we believe that it is only for those who have put their faith in Christ and been baptized in a gospel-believing church. You do not have to be a member in our church to participate but you do have to be a Christian.

  • fellowship

We invite you to stay after the service for a time of fellowship and refreshments. It's a wonderful opportunity to connect, share, and enjoy some light treats together. We look forward to seeing you there!
